Wild Workshops was founded by Steven Lewis-Neill, a qualified primary teacher serving as Science Coordinator for six years before completing an MSc in Animal Behaviour. His postgraduate work included field research in Madeira, Mull and Tanzania, developing a strong foundation in behavioural science and field techniques.
WildWorkshops was established in 2007 alongside this academic work, bringing structured, hands-on nature education directly into primary schools. Eighteen years on, the programme delivers nationwide, supporting schools with high-quality, curriculum-aligned wildlife workshops. Even bringing nature indoors to schools where regular access to nature may be limited.
The core principle remains consistent:
“If children are not engaged with nature, if they do not understand it, why would they want to protect it?”
