After leaving classroom teaching in 2006, Steven pursued a Masters in Animal Behaviour and began developing practical science sessions that help children build confidence, curiosity and connection with nature. Over nearly two decades he has worked with schools, libraries and community groups across the UK, delivering engaging sessions that allow children to observe wildlife first-hand and ask their own questions about how the natural world works.
Through Wildworkshops, Steven Lewis-Neill delivers workshops for EYFS and primary schools including minibeast and habitat sessions, science enrichment activities, library events and community nature programmes. Thousands of children take part each year in Wildworkshops sessions that encourage careful observation, curiosity and respect for living things.
The Wildworkshops approach is simple: real encounters with nature spark curiosity, and the science grows from the questions children ask. Sessions focus on exploration, observation and care for wildlife, helping children develop confidence and a lasting interest in the natural world.
Steven Lewis-Neill also runs the Wildworkshops Community, a growing online group where educators and nature-interested families share seasonal wildlife observations, practical outdoor learning ideas and resources that help bring nature into everyday learning.
Wildworkshops is now developing towards becoming a Community Interest Company (CIC), with the aim of expanding access to meaningful nature experiences for children and supporting schools and communities to build lasting connections with the wildlife around them.
Steven Lewis-Neill is based in Greater Manchester and delivers Wildworkshops sessions in schools, libraries and community settings across the UK, helping children experience wildlife first-hand and develop curiosity about the natural world.
